Race Dates Set For 2020 Mint 400 in Las Vegas, Nevada

Summer is just starting, which means race season will be on hiatus until the weather cools down. Most of us will still be enjoying outdoor adventures but the clock is ticking until Desert Racing starts up again. One of the big races to look forward to is “The Great American Off-Road Race,” the annual Mint 400.

Mint 400 festivities and races are scheduled from Tuesday, March 3, 2020, to Sunday, March 8, 2020. Some smaller events are being adjusted to different days and times, though the main events will be on the same days as they have been in previous years. Specifically, the Tech and Contingency Off-Road Festival will be Thursday and Friday, per usual. Arguably the best Tech and Contingency of any race in the world, the event brings the excitement of desert racing excitement and the playful atmosphere of Las Vegas.

Freemont Street will once again be the site of Tech and Contingency.

“Expanding the Mint 400 Off-Road Festival to two days back in 2018, greatly increased the value to our racers, partners, vendors, and fans. It allowed us to make the process more enjoyable for everyone. Adding online registration and the second day of racing had the same effect for the race teams this year,” said Mint 400 COO, Joshua Martelli. “Our goal for next year is to build on that experience, streamline the process, and make it easier for friends and family to come to support their favorite race teams. We want the entire process to be easy so we can focus on whats fun – the racing!”

After returning from a 20-year hiatus, the Mint 400 has grown exponentially.  Far from only being a simple race, the Mint 400 attracts nearly 50,000 spectators and 550 race teams to Las Vegas for parties, parades, the off-road festival, and the races. In 2019, the Mint 400 had grown to five spectator areas, places where fans are able to safely watch the action. More are being developed for the 2020 event.
