Video: AnzoUSA U-Bar Headlight Install For 2011-16 Super Duty

Headlights are things that you never really think about until you light up the night with them. Until then, they just sit on the front of the vehicle and give it a “face” you recognize. So what do you do when you find the headlights are burned-out or just not cutting it anymore? Or what if you want something that’s more attention-grabbing?

Enter AnzoUSA’s U-Bar headlights (PN 111292). These units are aimed at recouping the lost brightness of aging lights, as well as improving a truck’s exterior. These top-quality units are sold as a pair and are plug-and-play.

Once the bolts and clips have been removed from the grille, it can be taken out to gain better access to the headlights.

But what puts these headlights over the top are the U-bars. Using stylized halogen lamps in the shape of a “U”, the lights exude a unique appearance that looks incredible, whether near or far away. Nestled inside the U-bars are halogen projector bulbs that will bring back the brightness you’re looking for.

“We perfected the light output on the U-Bar so the light is consistent throughout the bar, without any dark spots,” said AnzoUSA’s National Account Manager Bee Thao. “What also makes the light desirable is that with the patented U-Bar design, it can be used in the daylight as well. The light improves the visibility of your vehicle to other drivers and pedestrians, as the LEDS are a cooler color temperature that makes them visible under full sunlight.”

Installing the headlights is an easy process that anyone with a proper set of tools can handle. Specifically, you’ll need a socket wrench with extension, a 10mm socket, and a flathead screwdriver.

Once the four bolts holding in each headlight are removed, the headlight can come out and you can pop off the electrical connectors, too.

AnzoUSA’s U-Bar headlights use two projector bulbs and distinctive, halogen-filled U-shaped bulbs that give any truck an outstanding and noticeable appearance.

The process begins by disconnecting the negative battery terminal. Next, the four bolts holding the grille to the truck must be removed. All that remains are three plastic clips on the grille’s bottom, and it should come right out. This will give you easier access to the headlights.

Four bolts hold the headlights in the truck – two on top, one on the side, and one on the bottom. Remove them, and then carefully take the headlight out of place. While doing this, make sure to unplug the connectors for the bulbs. At this point, installing the AnzoUSA headlights is a matter of repeating the previous steps in reverse.

The before and after difference of running stock versus AnzoUSA's U-Bar headlights is staggering. The truck has a unique look to it that makes it stand out from the crowd, and it has renewed vigor for those nighttime drives.

The last step to this process is to make sure the lights are positioned to your liking. We backed the truck up a bit to make sure it was aiming head-on at the wall, and then made adjustments to get the beams level and covering an appropriate portion of the wall.

With that done, our installation was complete. The Super Duty was ready to take on the night and look good doing it. To find out more about AnzoUSA and its line of headlights for your vehicle, be sure to visit the company’s website and Facebook page.
