Stadium Super Trucks Racer Spotlight: Sheldon Creed

20-year-old Sheldon Creed from El Cajon, California already has an impressive list of racing accomplishments that include X-Games gold, and back-to-back championships in the Stadium Super Truck series.

Fast behind the wheel of anything he drives, Creed has competed in the Trans Am Series, ARCA, K&N, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, and the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He is the ARCA series overall points champion for 2018 and will be competing in NASCAR trucks in 2019.

Sheldon Creed was fast from the start. He raced Trophy Karts in the Lucas Oil Series.

“I don’t know if I have a strategy, I’m just out here to have some fun, and to win,” said Creed. “I haven’t been a part of SST all year long. I ran the first round and then I’ve been focusing on asphalt. I’m here to have fun and play with the boys in the dirt again. I got my start racing dirt bikes and BMX. I raced dirt bikes here when I was 6 or 7 years old, and then went to four wheels after that. I have a lot of time out on this track.”

“Obviously, I want to win, so I’m going to be going for it,” continued Creed. “I still love the dirt. Ask anyone who comes from dirt first, they’ll go back to dirt any day, it’s so much fun. I miss it a lot. I just signed a deal for NASCAR trucks full-time next year, so I’m looking forward to that. There is so much to learn in the asphalt stuff. It’s so different. I learned a bunch this season, but there’s a still lot more to learn.”

When asked about driving on two-wheel-drive, Sheldon answered, “I don’t know; it started a long time ago for me and then Robby started doing it. I knew I could do it already so, I don’t know, I just started doing it too and it took off, it’s fun. You can do it on dirt, but it’s a lot harder because it’s loose.”
