SEMA 2018: Up Down Air’s Four-Tire Inflation System Changes The Game

We’re no strangers to the SEMA Show at this point, and neither are we strangers to the cutting edge. Case in point – Up Down Air and its four-tire inflation system, which is now available for the Jeep Wrangler JL.

Up Down Air’s Scott Poncher shared more insight on the system and what it means for off-roading. The importance of airing-down for off-road and airing-up for on-road is something that Poncher stressed. “Leaving tires aired down and rolling on asphalt is very hard on them,” he said. “It does terrible things to the sidewall and leaves the tire prone to damage, especially at highway speeds.”

Up Down Air's four-tire inflation systems let users determine the exact air pressure to inflate or deflate to. Their systems work with ARB and VIAIR air compressors.

He touched on a very familiar story – starting the day on the trail, we air down our tires one by one, and then afterwards, we have to drive the vehicle to a gas station or share a compressor, and refill the tires one by one. The four-tire inflation system cuts right through the hassle and lets users do it all at once. “Our system lets users air-up or air-down all four of the tires at the same time,” said Poncher. “It also makes sure that each tire’s air pressure is the exact same. In fact, we guarantee it.”

The four-tire inflation system is now in its second-generation, which has improved its looks and fitment in applications, and UDA has them available for multiple platforms. On their website, UDA has systems for Jeeps, Ford Raptors, and even UTVs. The kits are available on their own, in case you already have your own air compressor. If not, fear not, since UDA offers mounting brackets for popular units from VIAIR and ARB, and sells them as well. Go check out Up Down Air on its website and its Facebook page for more information.
