Spotted in the Shop: EGR USA 2018 F-350 Flares, Visors and Deflector

When a 2018 Ford F-350 truck rolled in for some easy upgrades, we had a pretty good idea as to what we wanted in regard to external bolt-ons. This meant bringing in none other than EGR USA for a hood deflector, fender flares, and a window visor. EGR is a leader in bolt-on cosmetic upgrades that work on both functionality and fitment.

In order to better understand the benefits of these small yet strikingly styled additions to our F-350, we reached out to EGR’s Tommy Lamb and came back with some interesting inside info. According to Lamb, EGR manufactures everything from the ground up; “From scratch, not scraps,” as they said. Lamb said, “We use raw, premium, virgin material manufactured and extruded in house here in North America.”

EGR offers parts – such as these fender flares – in paint-matched colors. These are Ingot Silver, destined for a 2018 F-350 in the same color.

For things like fender flares, EGR is one of the only manufacturers in America that utilizes a robotic trimmer in order to ensure that the best fitment on the market has their name on it. It’s a no-drilling-required, super-easy installation process too, and provides the equivalent of OEM quality in regard to fit and finish.

Speaking of which, the brand also specializes in spraying OEM approved colors on most of its products for paint-matching purposes. In our case, we went with an Ingot Silver to match the rest of the truck, a decision that in retrospect proved wise. As EGR said, it provides “more than just a plain look, but the right look.”

Our SuperGuard hood protector came in Dark Smoke, allowing us to retain visibility once installed.

Moving on to EGR’s hood protectors, Lamb explained, “They are designed to give customers the perfect balance of deflection and protection.” This product’s easy, no-drill installation made it the obvious choice, and being that all of the brand’s deflectors are manufactured in-house from high-grade UV protected acrylic, we know that durability, style, and a perfect fit are all on the roster.

Last but not least, the window visors use the same UV protected acrylic used in EGR’s hood deflectors. Lamb commented, “They promote fresh air circulation throughout the vehicle.”

With their fully integrated, custom molded design, EGR window visors are engineered first and foremost to reduce window fogging. Lamb stated that the visor’s low-profile and sleek design not only makes for a sporty, stealthier look, but it also provides superior visibility when compared to some of the bulkier window visors on the market.

EGR's SlimLine window visors are UV-protected and will fit onto all four door windows.

As for the coloring on our window visors and hood deflector, we opted for a dark smoke shade as opposed to a matte black look, as the latter looked to be a tad too opaque for our taste. We also are quite fond of the fact that much like the hood deflector, all of our visors feature simple instructions, are clearly labeled with color-coded stickers, and can be installed in minutes.

All told, this makes our decision to opt for EGR parts all the more sound, as install time for our fresh bolt-ons looms on the near horizon. Look for the article soon, and in the meantime, go check out EGR’s website and Facebook page for more information on their products.
