Atlis Motor Vehicles – Electric Meets Off-Road Truck?

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard of Tesla. They started fifteen years ago as a tiny startup who wanted to shift the automotive industry towards electric. Most people called them crazy and they would fail early on, but now Tesla has turned into a massive company with a lineup of vehicles that is expanding. One market that Tesla has yet to enter and that current manufacturers haven’t electrified is the pickup truck market. In the US specifically, pickup trucks are insanely popular and are a segment that hasn’t seen any disruption in a very long time. One company, Atlis Motor Vehicles, plans to change that with their XT Pickup Truck.

Their truck, as you might imagine, looks roughly similar to current trucks on the market. The design is very futuristic, but the overall shape is very familiar. Interestingly enough, Atlis will be making one major change to the formula of the typical pickup truck, and that’s ditching the solid rear axle for an independent setup with air suspension. This should give their truck much greater ground clearance with the ability to stay level, even while towing large amounts. Off-road enthusiasts can rejoice, as this truck will have four-wheel-drive as a standard feature.

Of course, with any kind of a small startup company like Atlis, there are lots of questions surrounding funding, prototypes, vehicle delivery dates, vehicle details, and much more. Atlis has most of these questions and many more outlined on their website. Also outlined on their website is how to invest in their company, and how you can buy or subscribe to owning their truck (assuming it actually comes to market).
