King Of The Hammers Prize Purse Increased To $100K For 2019

In the world of off-road racing, events like the Baja 1000 and Mint 400 used to be considered some of the gnarliest events out there, until King of the Hammers came along. See, King of the Hammers is different in that it’s not just rock crawling or just high-speed racing, but a combination of both. This creates a whole new set of challenges, and the difficulty of King of the Hammers is so high that most competitors considering finishing the race a huge feat, let alone winning it.

This race is only 12 years old, but it is quickly becoming one of the most popular desert races out there, as evidenced by Hammerking Production, Inc. announcing the purse for the 2019 ULTRA4 race has been tripled to $100,000.

First place will take home an impressive $75,000, second place will take home $15,000, and third place will take home $10,000. On top of all that, the fastest driver through the infamous “Idle Issues” section of the race will be awarded $3,750. The huge increase in prize money is sure to grow the Ultra4 class and further solidify King of the Hammers as one of the toughest off-road races ever.

“Every year the support and excitement from our partners for King of the Hammers just keeps growing,” said King of The Hammers founder Dave Cole. “This increased purse is made possible through Monster Energy’s belief in ULTRA4 and their commitment to the sport. In just over a decade, we’ve gone from 12 guys racing for bragging rights, to more than 100 elite off-road racers competing for the crown and now $100,000 in prize money. This type of growth is only possible through the support and commitment of dedicated partners like Monster Energy.”
