When it comes to any form of racing, whether on track or off-road, the cost of entry is generally very high. However, events like the 24 Hours of Lemons and ChumpCar offer a way for people to get into racing at an extremely low price, but those are limited to on-road events, and we like off-roading; which is where the Gambler 500 comes in.

The Gambler 500 is a mostly off-road, 500-mile rally where the vehicles are limited to costing a mere $500 or so. B Is For Build, a very popular automotive YouTube channel, took two of their cars to this event and filmed the whole thing for everyone to enjoy.

The cars they brought out included a Corvette go-kart with off-road tires and some other goodies, as well as a 2007 Mercedes CLS 550 with part of the roof chopped off. Neither vehicle has any doors, which meant that anyone inside the cabin of their cars got incredibly dusty. With around 1,000 vehicles and thousands of people participating in this rally, the competitor’s cars were equally as interesting, unique, and relatively “ghetto-rigged.”

In this rally, there are many different routes you can take, as long as you reach the ten different checkpoints which have already been laid out. Naturally, B Is For Build decided to make the drive as tough as possible by traveling off-road as much as possible from checkpoint to checkpoint. They got lost a few times along the way and even found a spot to jump their Corvette. At the end of it all, though, they ended up at the big nighttime Gambler party with tons of other drivers and had a good time.
