If you’ve ever bought a vehicle from a dealership, you know that sometimes the dealerships run specials on certain vehicles, enticing more customers to come in to the showroom and buy a certain type of vehicle. But one Ford dealership in North Dakota is taking the promotional sale idea in a different direction. That’s because instead of offering no money down, or zero percent interest for 18 months like we typically see, he’s offering a shotgun with every truck purchase, according to Fox News.
Now before questions of safety get raised, let us point out that the Muscatell Burns Ford dealership in Hawley, MN isn’t just handing everyone who buys a new or used F-series truck between now and March 14th a shotgun.
In all actuality, those who do purchase a truck from the dealer during this promotion will receive a $350 voucher to The Outdoorsman Sport Shop just down the street in Fargo, North Dakota. Thus the promotion is being called the “Outdoorsman Event.”

Now, where the gun comes in is with the voucher. Customers can purchase a sportsman item of their choice, including a Remington 870 Express shotgun, a firearm priced fittingly enough at $350 at the sporting goods store.
It may sound crazy, but representatives of the dealership told Fox News that at least one F-series custom did purchase the gun with his promotional voucher. The promotion is also driving more traffic to the dealer’s website and giving them both local and national media attention- not a bad thing when looking for sales.Â
With an overstock of trucks and winter’s slow sales numbers, the Muscatell Burns dealership is looking to “start spring off with a bang,” according to promotional material on the dealership’s website. And with this gun offer, we think they have a good chance at that.
