Video: New Off-Road Game Gravel Is Coming Soon!

Gravel is one more racing title that we need to put in our video game libraries. Due for launch in Q1 of this year, the game looks to be the next SpinTires or Baja: Edge of Control that we’ve been waiting for… or is it?

Well, it could be. It features multiple styles of racing, including rally, stadium, and cross-country. All of the trailers make it look cool as hell, with special mention of it being “in-game capture,” in essence, that what you see in the trailer is what you will get in the game.

Judging by the trailer, Gravel looks to be a Forza-like experience, meshing arcade-y "points grabs" gameplay (drifting, catching air, driving at high speed, etc.) with delicious damage modeling and mud flying everywhere.

So we can see that it looks great, but will it be great? The developer and publisher, Milan-based Milestone S.r.l., has been making racing games for the better part of 20 years. They’ve built up their credentials over that time, but their main claim to fame has been with motorcycle racing games, in particular the SBK and Ride franchises.

Since Gravel is a new franchise, however, we don’t know what to expect. Milestone has had experience in rally racing games, having made several WRC titles over the years, so that could be a good omen.

Career and multiplayer modes are on the menu, so single-player or multiplayer fans can get their fun out of the game.

The game will drop on February 27th. Will you pick it up? Let us know what you think of Gravel in the comments below.
