Video: 2017 Monster Energy Trail of Missions

Baja is one of the most famous off-road locations in the world. It’s best known for the Baja 500 and Baja 1000 race which is grueling, high-speed races. For many of the racers, they don’t really get a chance to slow down and check out all the cool things there are to see down in Baja.

Monster Energy [1]’s Trail of Missions is a way for automotive celebrities and racers to see Baja in a totally different way. The idea is simple: one week of time, lots of off-road rigs, friends, and family, and a trail to see all the beautiful locations in Baja.

The trail of choice is the El Camino Real which will lead to Loreto where the very first “Mission” was built. “We’re going to unplug from all our computers, we’re going to not have much cell service, we’re not going to have anybody calling us telling us ‘we need you to do, we need you to do that.’ We’re going to Baja which means a good time with friends old and new,” said Cameron Steel when the caravan was just passing through the Tecate border crossing.

The group of trucks includes 1st and 2nd generation Raptors, Toyota 4Runners, Toyota Tundras, Jeep Wranglers, and others. Although the group moves pretty quickly through some sections of land, they never push themselves or their vehicles to the extreme. After all, they’re down in Mexico for an entire week and need their trucks to last the entire time. Check out the video for yourself!
