The 2016 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series [2] (LOORRS) may be in the rearview mirror, but the 2017 season is about to heat up. For 2017 Bilstein [3] is expanding into the highly competitive Pro 2 and Pro 4 classes.
“Involvement in LOORRS has given us the opportunity to showcase Bilstein’s quality, design, ruggedness, performance, and superior tuning capabilities,” said Regis Finn, Marketing Manager for Bilstein. “Our involvement in off-road racing dates back to the early 1970’s and the name Bilstein has been synonymous with off-road championships for more than 45 years.”
For the 2017 racing season, all sponsored racers will be running Bilstein M 9200 coilovers and M 9200 bypass shock absorbers with the exception of the Mod Kart class. The 2017 Bilstein race team includes:
- Mod Kart: Cole Keats
- Pro Buggy: Darren Hardesty (2016 Class Champion)
- Pro Lite: Jerett Brooks (2016 Class Champion), Ryan Beat, and Cole Mamer
- Pro 2: Jarett Brooks and Doug Mittag
- Pro 4: Doug Mittag
“Amazing results,” said Alex Striler, Director of Marketing for Team Lucas. “Bilstein shocked the off-road industry last year when they took home not just one, but two championships in only their second season of short course racing!”
The 2017 racing season kicks off April 22-23 at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, Arizona for Rounds 1 and 2. Be sure to check out the full race schedule on Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series’s website [2].
