The quest for the 50th is in full swing. In a little over a month, teams will be making their way down the Baja peninsula in hopes of taking home victory during this year’s 50th anniversary of the Baja 1000.

Robbie Pierce is getting back behind the wheel of the no. 30 SCORE [2] Trophy Truck. As the former owner of MasterCraft Safety, Pierce actively tested and promoted his products in the desert and short course through MasterCraft Racing [3].

New teams and some old ones will be participating in the event. “You never forget Baja, your love for it just goes into remission,” Robby Pierce explained. The purchase of Impact [5] and MasterCraft Safety [6] by Sparco [7] this past summer has provided Robbie Pierce with the time and resources to return to the desert. Thus, MasterCraft Racing is now 30Racing.

Pierce made some calls to his friends and it wasn’t long before he had the old team together to race the 50th annual SCORE Baja 1000 this upcoming November. “We have always used the best products, so it isn’t surprising that the people at BFGoodrich [8], Jimco [9], Walker Evans Racing [10], Baja Designs [11], Fox Racing Shox [12], and TSCO [13], the same people who were at the forefront a decade ago, are still are the forefront of innovation and winning races,” Pierce noted.

A brand new wrap will be on the Jimco Trophy Truck when it starts the 2017 Baja 1000.

The all-new Trophy Truck is currently being prepped for battle by Mike Julson of Jimco. Julson will also be sharing driving duties with Pierce. The 30Racing Trophy Truck will be wrapped in unique blue Jimco livery exclusively for the 50th anniversary of the race.

Further splitting the driving duties will be Greg Shapiro and Barry Karakas. Outside of the truck Crew Chief Ricky Lee will lead a full complement of Baja racing veterans from 30Racing, along with support from TSCO. The Baja 1000 may be all that is on their minds, but 30Racing plans to make it to the desert on a regular basis in 2018
